Equal Time for Maddie and Lilly

This morning as I was getting ready to go to work - Lilly ran out with me and jumped in the car.  I think she is feeling a bit neglected and wants her equal time.  I took her for a short walk - just by herself so she would feel special.   When I walked back in the house - Maddie was waiting.................so many dogs - so little time.

I think Sugar is a cat - in spirit

Found my little precious sitting in the kitchen sink looking out the window.  She is a dog - I have never had a dog jump in the kitchen sink.

Getting dressed with the Sug.........

Getting dressed and sat down and Sugar decided  my bra was a toy - ever had a dog grab your back strap and pull???  My girls were not amused............

Sleeping on a Sunday afternoon

So much for not on the furniture - I guess she really isn't on the furniture - but on Rik.  I know the photo is dark - but I believe you get the point........

The Escaping Sugar

Sugar's aunt Sherrie took her for a joy ride - Sugar  jumped out of window - Sugar thought it was fun making her auntie run after her - Sugar recaptured - no rides for Sugar.

The fine art of sitting

I stumped my toe this morning and mumbled "shit" and Sugar promptly "sat" waiting for her reward.  Smart dog.

The Amazing Sugar!

Decided we needed a time out place for Sugar........she is partially deaf and doesn't always follow commands - that is my story and I am sticking to it!  My husband Rik cleaned everthing out of one of the bathrooms - I mean everything - and put her in there for all of 10 minutes to test it.  We now have to repair the light fixture..........  She jumped on the countertop and proceeded to chew on the lights - just how does one protect a dog from light bulbs - who would ever think you would have to.

I sat all of the dogs down to explain the trouble with electricity and glass.........Maddie walked off and went back to sleep.......here are the looks I received from Lilly and Sugar.......

Next stop - Jail!

Fell asleep playing with her baby................

Don't let this picture fool you - she is just re-energizing!

Burning Up in Texas

Seriously - suntain lotion on a dog?  Not only do I get a half-deaf, half-blind dog, now I have to put suntain lotion on her pig pink skin????   Ummmm......can someone tell me how to keep her from licking it off of her and me??

Decided letting her cover herself in mud is probably more practical!

Why a blog about Sugar?

I have two other great dogs (Maddie and Lilly) that have patiently tolerated Sugar since getting her.  The dogs of my life have been very special.  When I would lose one I would think there is no more room in my heart for a pooch.  I can't take the saying goodbyes.

Sugar is crazy - you've met that kind of dog.  Marley II anyone?  Life is sometimes hard, very hard and my puppers have helped me keep my sanity with their unconditional love and happy dances.  Did I mention Sugar is crazy?
My dear Abraham (RIP) and Maddie out for a ride!

Our sweet rescue - Lilly

She arrived at our front door - with a nasty cut on her eye, scabs and scratches everywhere on her, and rib and spine bones protuding.  She had obviously been on the streets for a bit.  She came inside, plopped down looking at my husband, friend visiting and me, and waited.  She was at home immediately.  Well, with the humans - still being debated by Maddie and Lilly.

We have learned she is hard of hearing - common in a partial albino, may lose the site in her eye and is a pit bull.  Hmmmmmmm.....nothing I was seeking in a dog.  But as my life so often goes, I don't get to make the choices.  Sugar chose us and was God's gift for us to take care of and save from the streets.
